Path B: Storage (Authentic Vial)
-
Unopened vials
- Keep in a refrigerator between 2 °C and 8 °C (36 °F – 46 °F).
- Leave each vial inside its carton to protect it from light.
- Do not freeze. If a vial has been frozen, throw it away.
- An unopened vial may stay at room temperature (below 30 °C / 86 °F) for up to 21 days; record the date you take it out of the fridge and use or discard it within that window.
-
After first use
Mounjaro® tirzepatide vials are single-dose. Draw the full contents into a syringe, inject, and discard the empty vial—do not save leftovers or re-enter the vial. -
Transport tips
- Use an insulated pouch with an ice pack for trips longer than a few minutes.
- Keep the vial upright to prevent the solution from wetting the rubber stopper.
- Do not expose to direct sunlight or leave in a hot car.
See the Safe Disposal Guide for how to throw away used vials and syringes.
