Verifying Authenticity
Every Mounjaro® carton—whether shipped to India, the US, or anywhere else—carries a unique 2-D barcode that you can confirm directly with Eli Lilly.
Step-by-step check
-
Scan the carton
Open the camera on your phone or go to scan.lilly.com. Point it at the square 2-D barcode printed on the outer carton (not the vial). -
Read the result
Lilly’s site instantly reports whether the serial number is valid, recalled, or unknown. -
Match carton to vial
- Product name, strength, lot number, and expiry date should be identical.
- Flip-off cap and crimp seal must be intact.
-
Inspect the liquid
The solution inside the vial should be clear to slightly yellow, with no particles or cloudiness. -
When in doubt, throw it out
If the scan fails, packaging looks tampered, or the liquid appears abnormal, do not use the vial. Contact Lilly customer care with the serial and lot number for guidance.
Quick tips
- Scan every new carton before first use.
- Keep screenshots of successful scans for your records.
- Store vials in the fridge (2 °C – 8 °C) and discard any that have been frozen or overheated.
